INTERNATIONAL AWARDS FOR LICHT KUNST LICHT AG

It is a great and much appreciated fortune to participate in projects that attract considerable attention in the lighting design field and beyond – by virtue of the architecture and sometimes even through our contribution.

For more than a decade we have had the privilege of receiving awards in the world's most renowned lighting platforms, yet we are touched and grateful every time to clients and architects alike.

The event took place for the 3rd time and the hosts bestow public appraisal on exceptional lighting applications in the context of architecture and the arts. Architecture and lighting design benefit from each other. One of Germany's most beautiful museum buildings indulges visitors and experts with a fabulous collection.

Last, but not least - an international accolade of our office occurred through the AZ award in Toronto, where the Städel Museum prevailed in a competition with several hundred prestigious international projects in the category Best Lighting Design.

It was not only the top-class jury who judged that light and architecture blend in a unique way, but also the online audience poll yielded a People's Choice Award as the best project.

This sequence of celebrations had its preliminary culmination in a remarkable museum inauguration that took place in Marseille, on June 04 2013, in the presence of the French President François Hollande.

On the occasion of the city's appointment to Europe's Cultural Capital 2013, Marseille has extended its cultural programme by a number of prominent museum buildings. Picturesquely located on pier J4 and connected to Fort St. Jean through a slender footbridge, the MuCEM resides directly on the Mediterranean shore. The museum building, designed by Rudy Ricciotty, has received a sensitive and fleet-footed exhibition design by Studio Adeline Rispal which we have set in scene with light.
