One of the biggest German shopping centers has been opened in Berlin this year. With its rentable area of 76.000 qm and its 160 rental units for retail sales stores, commercial service companies and gastronomic concepts and a fitness center the 390 Mio. Euro project will set new benchmarks at Steglitzer Schlossstrasse.

The lighting concept that was established by us overlaps a usal mall lighting and is uses the architectural space and ambience to create a sustainable spatial sensation to the visitors. With the help of routes of lighting and indirect systems the nappe pile are restaged in the way that a reproducible, generous impact of the room is coming out without using the usual supercharged components.

The partial inversion of the system belongs to this concept of generous impact of room – junctions into other mall areas are introverted lightened with intent and therefor they partially only work with hidden downlights to guide visitors again into the mall areas which develop a nearly sculptural impression using illuminated ceiling slabs.
